A special report examining the State of Black Milwaukee will be discussed during a Milwaukee Urban League virtual town hall Thursday, September 24, 2020 from Noon – 1:30 p.m. The report provides important information and reveals the stark realities of the economic, educational, and social state of Milwaukee’s black residents.
The report was written by Dr. Marc Levine, Professor Emeritus of History, Economic Development and Urban Studies at UW-Milwaukee at founding director of UWM’s Center for Economic Development.
The State of Black Milwaukee report follows the release of the National Urban League’s State of Black America 2020 Unmasked report. The State of Black America is the signature annual reporting of the National Urban League and is one of the most highly-anticipated benchmarks and sources for thought leadership around racial equality in America across economics, employment, education, health, housing, criminal justice and civic participation.
