Community leaders will support fundraising efforts for education, employment programs
(August 10, 2023 ● Milwaukee, WI) The countdown is underway for the 38th Annual Greater Milwaukee Urban League Black and White Ball on November 4, 2023. Today, GMUL proudly announces the community co-chairs for the event, GMUL Board members Margaret Bailey-Stewart and Jim Strack. Strack is treasurer of the Board and Bailey-Stewart is Board secretary.
Bailey-Stewart is director, government and community strategy, Charter Communications (Spectrum). In her role, she connects communities to technology through digital education engagement. She also provides operational and strategic leadership to Charter locations in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
“As a Milwaukee native, I’ve personally seen how integral the role of the Greater Milwaukee Urban League has been to improve the quality of life for residents in the City of Milwaukee and surrounding communities,” said Bailey-Stewart. “For nearly two decades, I have attended the sold out Black and White Ball that helps to fund programs and services available at GMUL and this year it is my honor to serve as a co-chair.”
As Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Holdings-Wisconsin, Jim Strack oversees the three rental vehicle brands of the company – Enterprise, Alamo and National – as well as other business operations including Enterprise fleet management, truck rental, car sales, and commute services. He has worked for Enterprise Holdings for 34 years and served as corporate vice president for EHI in Germany before relocating to Wisconsin.
