Graduate to Employment
Offers 16–21-year-olds who do not plan to attend college at the end of their high school graduation at this immediate time to engage in career exploration through field experiences, possible internship opportunities, mentorships, and more. This program also supports soft skills such as communication, conflict resolution, financial literacy, and time management, to name a few.
Project Ready Mentor – Middle and High School
The Greater Milwaukee Urban League’s Project Ready Mentor Program High School version isdesigned to support high school students aged 14-19 in preparing for college and exploring career options. This program focuses on enhancing students’ college readiness skills, providing career exploration opportunities, and connecting them with mentors who can offer guidance and support. Through workshops, mentoring sessions, and hands-on activities, students learn essential skills for academic success, career planning, and personal development, helping them to achieve their educational and professional goals.
The Greater Milwaukee Urban League’s Project Ready Mentor Program Middle School version is designed to support student’s 5th grade through 8th grade in preparing for high school, while learning about possibilities of college and exploring career options. This program focuses on preparing students’ high school readiness skills, providing career exploration opportunities, and connecting them with mentors who can offer guidance and support. Through mentoring sessions and hands-on activities, students learn essential skills for academic success, high schoolplanning, and personal development that will lead them to learn more in depth about their personal interest-academically and in career pathways, creating stronger emotional intelligence while helping them to achieve their educational goals. For the 2024-2025 school year our key terms are Confidence, Character, and Courage. Leveraging these aspects in all we do while cultivating new experiences and opportunities for the youth in this programming.
National Urban League Urban Youth Pathway
The Greater Milwaukee Urban League’s Urban Youth Pathways Program is aimed at students aged 14-24 and focuses on career readiness and exploration. The program provides participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the workforce and pursue meaningful career paths. Through a combination of workshops, mentoring, hands-on experiences, and career exploration activities, the program helps students develop key competencies, such as resume building, interview techniques, and professional etiquette. Additionally, it connects students with industry professionals and offers opportunities for internships, job shadowing, and apprenticeships, enabling them to explore various career options and gain practical experience.
