About Us
For more than a century, Greater Milwaukee Urban League has stood in the gap, working hard to empower communities and change lives for African Americans living in the greater Milwaukee area.
Greater Milwaukee Urban League was founded in 1919 and is one of 90 affiliates across 34 states and the District of Columbia. Our founders, a racially diverse coalition, believed that working together, the lives of every American can be made better. Our partnerships in Milwaukee and Wisconsin reflect that same diversity. Our commitment to empower communities and change lives is as strong now as it was in 1919.
Mission
Greater Milwaukee Urban League leads through education, employment, and empowerment to achieve economic vibrancy and access to all industries and disciplines positioning individuals to create wealth and live a better quality of life.
With over 100 years of service, GMUL is committed to economic vibrancy and opportunities to create a quality of life for those in Milwaukee and surrounding areas.
